1926
Model T Roadster

This “T” belongs
to Arnie and Linda Anderson. In July 2003, Chris Feskens told us about
a man named Virgil Weber, who had a 1926 Model T Ford Roadster that he
wanted to sell. The roadster was painted Washington Blue, with black fenders.
They were interested in it the minute they saw it. On July 17th, Chris
Feskens and Arnie went to trailer it and brought it home. Chris gave Arnie
driving lessons, since Arnie had never driven a “T” before.
Bert Harrison bought the T
from a man in Sweet Home and put it together with the correct years of
parts. It had been assembled from parts from various years of Fords. Bert
used some of the parts on other cars, and substituted the correct parts
onto this roadster. The color of the car was white with black fenders.
Bill Hellie acquired the car
from Bert. Bill repainted the car because he thought it looked like a
skunk with the black and white color scheme.
Virgil Weber got the car and
added the bumpers. He also converted it to an 8-volt electrical system
to aide in starting and added a water pump to help it keep cool. In 1999,
the original engine was replaced with a rebuilt engine and transmission.
The car has the optional wire
wheels. In January of 1926, 21-inch wire wheels were made available as
an option on the open cars.
Arnie and Linda have driven
the roadster on many car tours, shows and parades. The car has won several
trophies and awards in the time that they have owned it.
