The truck is a 1932 Ford
model BB. The truck has a 4-cylinder Model B engine and a 6-speed gearbox.
Apparently this is an extremely rare combination. The wheelbase is 158
inches with duel rear wheels. The body has three separate tanks and
a storage cupboard in the rear. The tanker body was made by Fargo Tank
and Foundry in Fargo ND. Jim Comfort, a museum member did the majority
of painting, body and fender work and final assembly. Bob Pipkin another
museum member helped on the motor work and assembly. Tom Kneeland helped
on cutting and milling the lumber for the frame rails and tank saddles.
This has been a labor of love for several of us. We tried to recreate
what a tanker truck would have appeared as in 1932.
