Now that the Elevator is complete, the “final piece of the puzzle” in the Museum's construction masterplan envisioned by the founders is within our reach, WITH YOUR HELP. This involves the upstairs, 6000 square foot empty shell above our entrance.

Some of you may have seen this area during Steam Up tours. If not, we would love to

show it to you the next time you come by the Museum.

When this large upstairs area is built out, we will be able to move the current conference/learning center, and our extensive library upstairs. This will open up more room for the display of cars, motorcycles and lifestyles downstairs next to the front entrance.

Along with the new Conference area, the upstairs will contain bathrooms, a library and a warming kitchen. There will also be varied display areas for Automobile history, art, signs, models and collections the Museum has received or has been promised into the future.

We plan to begin this project this winter. As you know costs keep going up and what was budgeted for in the past is never enough. Large expense items like the ADA approved bathrooms, inside walls, flooring and the finished electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems will have to be procured. Projected remaining construction costs are $200,000.

Many of you have watched the Museum blossom over the years. In the last 25 years there has been real progress on our 2-acre grounds. Buildings have gone up, the Speedster Program for kids is thriving and summer displays and shows are always cherished by members and visitors.

We have made a big impact in the community and for the next generations to come.

And, this is only getting better thanks to the countless volunteers, benefactors, Car Clubs and visitors who have supported the Museum.

Some members have come forward and made a commitment to help fund this latest project. Can I ask you to do the same? Please call Ron Smith - 971-338-8675 or Andy Ottolia - 503-873-1185 or 503-851-0816 to make a financial contribution to our 501(c)3 museum, or to donate a car or an item that will help us achieve this goal. Special things happen when all of us work together. We are counting on you!
